POSITION SUMMARY:
Steward Medical Group is seeking a Manager of Business Analytics to provide financial analysis in support of strategic initiatives, business development, and standard operations for Revenue Cycle. The Manager will oversee a team to produce monthly/quarterly results and analysis; and perform financial analysis to evaluate team performance and support decision making. The Manager will demonstrate leadership qualities and strategic thinking to train and supervise a team of analysts. The ideal candidate will be extremely well-organized and have solid time management skills in order to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, under tight deadlines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with SMG Revenue Cycle, Operations, and Finance staff to understand and evaluate financial performance and major financial issues facing the organization
Collaborate and communicate effectively with Revenue Cycle leadership to understand data, reporting, and analytical needs; produce and deliver solutions that support those needs.
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and collaborate with team members and others throughout SMG to ensure timeliness and accuracy of deliverables.
Coach and promote the collaboration of a team of 4-6 analysts to meet the needs of all business analytics across east, central, and west markets.
Identify and work with senior leadership to resolve problems with Revenue Cycle processes and, when appropriate, initiates changes to prevent future problems.
Understand, communicate, and explain variance drivers within the business and to help the revenue cycle team in making recommendations to senior management
Think analytically and support strategic decision making to align deliverables with the needs of new initiatives.
Discover new tools and innovative ways to provide meaningful data in more detail or with improved efficiency. Think critically and reconcile multiple data sources to identify discrepancies and limitations of reporting.
Ensure that the analytics team is able to deliver reports on standard metrics, including but not limited to accounts receivable, transactions, adjustments, practice metrics, performance, and budget
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
Other projects and tasks as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Extremely well-organized with solid time management skills in order to handle multiple projects simultaneously, under sometimes tight deadlines
Experience managing people with a strong focus on teambuilding and process improvement
Adaptable to competing priorities and the needs of the organization
Prior health care experience and knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices as applicable to health care
Able to reconcile data from multiple sources and identify discrepancies and probable causes
Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong customer service orientation
Resourceful and able to take initiative; take-charge ability, including knowledge of resources to answer questions and find required data and information
Ability to translate data into meaningful information and present that data to senior leadership.
Inquisitive and interested in Healthcare Revenue Cycle
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience (Type & Length): Five years of hospital revenue, healthcare finance, budget or other related finance experience or education
Management experience required
Software/Hardware: Experience with office systems, particularly Excel, Word, Access, Share point, and database management. SQL, Athena, and Cerner experience a plus.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
