Grants Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Grants Accountant in Brighton, Massachusetts (MA). Responsibilities:
Oversee the accounting of grants
Support the monthly, quarterly and year-end closes
Calculate and prepare grant revenue entries
Create journal entries
Report on expenditures
Reconcile grants accounts to the general ledger
Lead the preparation of grant related schedules and provide documentation
Provide additional analyses as needed
Bachelor's degree in related field required
CPA preferred
3 years of related experience or 6 years of experience in the Accounting field
Experience in grant accounting either in an audit, departmental or central office setting
Workday experience is a plus
Strong Excel skills required
Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills
Knowledge of grants management
Knowledge of internal controls over accounting and financial reporting
Knowledge of A-133 and financial audit requirements and audit reporting

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
